City of Davao

Davao City (Tagalog: Lungsod ng Dabaw; Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Dabaw) is one of the largest city in the Philippines in terms of land area which has 2,444 square kilometers and also tag as one of most progressive city of the country. The City of Davao has International Airport and seaport are the busiest ports of Mindanao.

The Davao City is the regional center of Davao Region (Region XI) and one of the cities in the country that govern independently of any province. City of Davao is the most populous city in Southern Philippines with the population of 1,650,337 (2007 census). Metro Davao is also called The Royal City or The City of Royalties, because it is the home of King of Philippine skies and the largest flying bird in the world which is the Philippine Eagle; queen of Philippine orchids which is Waling-waling, the king of Exotic Fruits, which is Durian and the highest mountain in the Philippines, Mt Apo.

Metro Davao is one of the Philippines recognized Metro Area along with Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. Metro Davao comprises the following cities and municipalities: Davao City, Tagum City, Panabo City, Island Garden City of Samal, Digos City, and the Municipalities of Carmen and Sta. Cruz.
